Default Problems w/003R w/ Metric Halo ULN-2 As Front-End

I'm having some random difficulty recording into my 003R. As many people do, I bypass the pres and converters of the Digi Box by going in and out of it s/pdif. I've done this for quite some time, without a hitch, until suddenly it stops working on me today.

I know how to route things around in the MIO console matrix, and am confident I have that configured correctly. I see level coming in to preamp 1 on the ULN-2 and level being output the Digital L on the same window in the MIO console matrix. The Same settings i have always used are saved as presets and I never need to bother with it. Even if I do tweak things, I still can recall basic settings. (By the way I am clocking the 003 off of the Metric halo using the Word Clock BNC cable)

The problem is, I cannot get any signal coming into the 003R via s/pdif. I switched s/pdif cables, and even tried using the s/pdif to clock the 003 from the Metric halo to make sure that signal can be sent to the unit digitally....and it seems fine (PTLE doesn't report a bad clock source when I do this so it leads be to believe that its fine).

So, guys, I am really at a loss here, and beyond frustrated. I've never had a problem with the Metric Halo ULN-2 and it works flawlessly in Logic and other core audio programs I have on this computer, so I don't think it's my front-end that's the porblem.

If anyone has any ideas, I would be really greatful.

Thanks so much,
Tab

i'm putting the answer i got from DIGI here in case anyone searches this later with the same problem.

the Metric Halo has RCA s/pdif outs, and for the 003R to accept that as an input, you need to select in the Hardware menu of Pro Tools "ADAT" as the optical format.
I dunno....but it works.
