Default hello...-9109 and -9129 error all the time on mbox

hello, i'm new here.

really struggling with a new laptop and mbox i've just bought. i've had a 001 for a few years and also use a 002 regularly, so i'm no stranger to pro tools and it's various erros, but i'm getting the -9129 (audio processing is conflicting with other CPU task...)and -9029 System held off interrupts for too long...) errors all the time. i change the H/W buffer size one way and get one error, change it the other way and get the other.

i get these errors after a minute or two of playback and bouncing to disk, even with ONLY ONE stereo channel and a couple of EQ or compressor plug-ins. the CPU can't being using any more than 10% !!

i phoned digidesign and they said remove virus software and check www.musicxp.net for tweaks and i've done all that and it's still doing it!

can anyone help? i'd really appreciate it. i'm on the edge...

andrew.

ps. using....

acer aspire 1522 laptop (reccomended on the compatibility page (!)
512 ram, 80gig hard drive

Are you running anything else? Have you checked your task manager to see if there is anything running that shouldn't be running?

Do you record to a seperate audio drive or to your system drive?

i've had a look at the task manager. definitely no other programs running, only about 20ish processes too, which i believe is pretty streamlines. unfortunatley i don't know what any of these actually are, so i don't want to mess with them.

it's just the one drive in the laptop too, with a partition though. i've tried moving the sessions to the system drive and the partition but still get the same problems.

to be honest the computer seems fast and can cope with loads of plug-ins according to it's cpu meter in pro tools, it just seems to want to do something else after about a minute or so of audio playback.

:-(

Digi recommends recording to a SEPERATE audio drive for best performance. I don't think a partition will help much.

i guess i'll have to try a separate hard drive at some point. don't really want to buy one yet cos it can't even handle playback of one stereo track with an eq on it without the same 9029 and 9129 message popping up, so i'm worried it's more than just the drive issue.

who knows? cheers anyway.

Yeah am trying to solve same error 9129 problem. I am using a gateway 6010gz upgraded the memory to 1gig and 60 gig hard drive and a seagate 160gig external hard drive, still having the same issues. I can only playback 1 minute before recieving the error message. About to lose my mind. By the way am using the M-Box and upgraded it to 6.9 version it came with 6.7. I have done every procedure suggested. Help DIGIDESIGN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
