Default MIDI Help

Maybe someone in this forum can help me. Any insight will be appreciated.
This is my first time trying to use midi (obviously). This is what I did.
I setup the RS 50 as described in the RS 50 ops manual for midi
1.Connect Roland RS 50 midi i-o o-i 002R
2.Connect Roland LineOut to a5 002R
3.launch PTLE 6.9
4.NewSession
5.Import midi to track(From CD) (tracks are populated with midi data)
6.midi studio setup
I select Roland But my model is not listed so I specify none -create
7.New track stereo A5 record enabled
8.Play Rec

No sound is generated. How do I make this work?

HELP PLEASE

Compaq athlon64 3500+ 1G 200G MCE
002R PTLE 6.9

Thanks Earl
