Ownership was already my name, and I can't find any command or app called "Property List Editor"....can you be more specific?
hmmmm...it may require going back to your OSX install disks and loading up the xcode/devloper tools.

Can we have some hummus with this PITA??

I received an installer from Digi to solve the problem.

I used the installer as instructed.

I then use the setup Xpand installer from the CD, as instructed.

My additional step was to download the INTEL version of XPAND since my CD was not Intel.

I installed that.

Opened PT.

Tried to put XPAND on an instrument channel, received the following:

DAE ERROR 9006.

I give up.

Sorry that we haven't been able to solve this yet. We have escalated this case to the developers.

Couldn't find this answered in any past replies: Did you actually launch the Set Xpand! Content Location.app? A previous post just says it's in the folder with the dat file.

Can you provide the rest of your system info? From your posts I see:
  • DAE error -9005 when inserting Xpand! on an Instrument Track
  • Pro Tools HD 7.3 (you should install the 7.3.1 Update if you haven't already)
  • Xpand version 1.0.1.989UB
  • Mac Pro (speed, memory, OS version?)
  • HD1
  • McDSP (versions?)
  • Waves (versions?)
  • ?
Please add or correct this info when you have a chance. Thanks!

I was also experiencing problems with Xpand! After I just updated to 7.31 LE with my Imac Core duo 20" 10.48 and Mbox 2, I installed Xpand for the first time and upgraded it immediately to the UB version. Couldn't make it work! After an hour of doing all sorts of things, I tried to uninstall 7.3 software only (left plug-ins intact) and installed the previous version 7->7.1->7.11cs2. Upon bootup, I was able to see Xpand load up, and when I ran it Xpand was indeed there working fine! After appreciating the free plug-in, out of curiousity I upgraded again to 7.31 to try if Protools would still see the plug-in... it did!

For my system, installing Xpand on 7.11 then upgrading to 7.31 worked.
