Default Keyboard shortcut to toggle MIDI speaker on and off?

This drives me nuts when using the marquee tool to grab MIDI notes for drums, especially if the volume is loud. I'm always clicking the speaker icon off and on. Is there a shortcut for this or a better workflow suggestion?
