Question DigiDiomididriver plugin problem with OS X Lion and Reason 6

I use Pro Tools 9 and Reason 6. I have midi keyboards which are connected to my Digi 002.

After I upgraded to OS X Lion my midi keyboards connected to the Digi 002 did not seem to be sending or receiving signals neither in Pro Tools nor Reason 6. When using Reason standalone my midi keyboard through 002 had a red X next to it in control surface preferences.

I upgraded to the latest DigiDioMidiDriver plugin. So now my midi keyboards connected to the 002 work fine with Pro Tools 9. However when I try to launch reason 6 standalone I get an error message "Failed to open MIDI support library. Please restart your computer and try again". Restarting doesn't help.

After searching this and other forums including propellerhead's forum I found out that it maybe other drivers. So i deleted all my files from HD/Library/Audio/MIDI drivers and HD/Library/Audio/MIDI devices and downloaded all new and up to date drivers. I still got the same result.

I then moved every file out of those folders and put them back one at a time, each time launching both Pro Tools and Reason. As soon as I put the DigiDioMidiDriver plug in into the HD/Library/Audio/MIDI drivers and launch Reason 6 standalone I get the same error.

It seems like that is the issue.

Any ideas?

Was this exact setup working in Snow Leopard for you?

I was having the same problem but with Logic, ITCH, & Peak LE.

I went to the Apple Store and had them revert my late 2011 MBP to 10.6.8.

Haven't had a chance to fire it up yet though...

There are a few threads about MIDI driver issues here. Try running Reason in 32 bit mode. For whatever reason, the Digi MIDI drivers put the MIDIServer in 32 bit mode (at least on my machine). That would narrow down the issue.
