Default How To Buy PT 12 ... Noob

I'm a DP user.

I bought a Digi 002 Rack around 2005.

I have some sessions that are PT only and need to get into PT 11/12.
All the new versions and options are mind boggling.
I see some licenses and things on eBay but don't trust it.

Can someone tell me HOW to get into ProTools without breaking my damn bank account and which version I should get and/or if I'm available for an upgrade?

I tried contacting customer support but the Avid Website is like Pantera's box.

I"m currently on Yosemite and a Mac Pro.

I have ProTools First but will eventually need more tracks.

thanks

Hey

I would go for a used PT11 license from here in the buy/sell section and expect to pay around $300 ish and then go on the annual plan which will give you PT12/10 and possibly PT11 licenses and will be $199 a year so under $500 you will have PT12/11/10 and a years updates and support with some new plugins.

If you decide next year you don't wanna update your annual plan for $199 you will have the licenses of PT you had when you stopped the plan.

Then there is the monthly subscription α $25 a month but when you stop paying you won't have any working PT version so thats the version you get if you need PT every now and then as you can jump on and off when you want to.

I hope that helps a little to choose.

thanks so much.

I think since I'm a DP user, I'll do the $25/month option.

This really helped me.
