some tracks not loading

i have pt8 le on my desktop recording area and i have pt9 on my laptop. i save everything on n external hard drive and when i take it from my desktop to my laptop and when i open sessions on my latop some tracks wont load but others will.they appear grayed out a bit. i recorded everything the same way. can anyone help? thanks

This is a common goof that most all of us make at least once(if I am on the right track). Your disk allocation may not be exactly as you think it is. If you imported tracks from another session, they may still reside in the audio files folder for the other session. Your best bet for getting all the audio in the same place is to open each session on the system where it ALL loads and works, and choose File>Save Session Copy, and check the box for "Copy all audio files"(or something to that effect), so you end up with a new session folder, which is a copy, but contains ALL the audio, no matter where it originated from(which could be different session folders, or even a different drive).
