Default device volume with waveform or asio driver in XP ?

Hi !

I installed the waveform driver in XP and this works like a charm, but the problem is that everything plays at 0 DB, which is pretty loud on my active speakers No I'd like to lower the 'master' volume so my cat doesn't get a heartattack everythime I do something wrong on my system When I try to open the volume control in windows it tells me that there are no active mixer devices available.
I have the same issue when I install the asio driver. Anyone got an idea ?

Grtz,

Benjamin
