Default Eq3 vs waves renaissance

Hi,

I've just upgrade to pro-tools 6.9 and have a little look to the digi eq3. It looks like it's a real eq, not like the others digi gives us.
I work a lot for small movies and some times i have to use a little bit equalization before going to big studios. The only way to be sure they (the studios) have the plug is to use waves ; then i always use the ren equa.
but i'm really sick with waves and there money policy, i think it's time to find other companies, ways to work.
anyway, how do you, guys (girls), think about the new digi equa ?? Can i throw the ren eq to the trash ??
After that, i'm going to look to replace the L2.... and the Xnoise...

thanks a lot

mik

p.s: excuse my english..definitly not my first language..

Whatever you do, I wouldn't advise you throw your Waves 'in the trash'.
I think the new Digi EQ is fantastic, and the difference between it and the RenEQ is quite negligable, imo. That said, Waves Ren EQ (and compressor) are still my go-to basic processors. Use your ears and decide which eq works best for the application at hand, just don't 'throw away' a good plug cause you think you might like something else better, that's just stupid.

besides that you simply CAN`T throw it away, since WAVES will take $150 from you if you want to get rid of it.

There's probably an annual fee for being rid of it.
