Default Protools and Profire 2626 issue

I'm brand new to Pro Tools and I was recently given Pro Tools 10.0 and promptly upgraded to 10.3.10. I was also given the M-Audio Profire 2626 interface. Pro Tools is installed under 64 bit Windows 10 and using the 64 bit Windows 8.1 driver for the Profire because there isn't one for Windows 10. A Roland A30 keyboard controller is sending MIDI via a USB 2.0 MIDI interface. When I open a session and click Setup/Periphals, I select the MIDI Controllers tab, then HUI the Type, Profire MIDI to Receive from but I'm not sure how to set Send to. Actually, I'm not sure if even that is the correct setup. I've tried sending to USB 2.0 MIDI, Expand!, and Profire MIDI but nothing is working. I get a message that says "Pro Tools is unable to communicate with HUI. Power-cycle HUI and check its connections. Note, if HUI is not in use, update the Peripherals dialog to prevent further warnings." Everything seems to work fine in my old sequencer/DAW program. Help!!

Windows10 is not supported with PT10. You should know one thing: protools is much more demanding with regards to system optimizing. So other daws may work fine, while PT doesn't.

HUI is for controllers with faders like the original Mackie HUI or the new Behringer controller. The midi for the keyboard and the Profire's midi ports is set under midi in the pull down, not preferences.

Hello and thanks for the responses. I was looking at the problem too much like a musician (which I am part-time) wondering why he's not getting any sound out his gear. Once I started looking at it as an audio engineer (which I am full-time) and had Pro tools route everything to the appropriate busses on the Profire, I was able to record MIDI. I did it twice but I'm going to continue to putz with it to make certain I got it.

On Windows, midi keyboards need to be setup under the Setup>Midi>Midi Studio section. Create a new "instrument" and name it whatever you like. The Brand and Model sections are optional(don't worry if your keyboard is not listed). The Input Port is the crucial detail and needs to be set for whatever way your midi is coming into your system. If the keyboard had a USB connection, it would likely show up as an option like "keyboardUSB[Emulated]". If you are using the midi input of the 2626, then look for something like "ProFireMidiIn". Its usually pretty obvious If the A30 is a controller-only(has no internal sounds) then you don't need to have a midi output path(so I would de-select all 16 midi channels for midi out)
