Default Cubase Crackling AudioTracks! (Mbox2)

Hey I am experiencing audio clicks and crackling at random intervals it is not the recorded audio it is not the cpu or vst performance I have reinstalled drivers a thousand times Asio Mbox 2 driver and Asio4all..

The Asio4all just clicks and nothing is playable and the Mbox asio can play midi cleanly no artifacts but any audio tracks click crackle and pop lol. (I am very frustrated after tons of wasted time 10+ hours troubleshooting)

Reinstalled cubase although only a repair reinstalled I don't want to unistalled and have to reinstall all my plugs and 3rd party as well.

Ummm... so yea the mic is fine I can use other daws and the card works perfect so its not the interface.

The Asio4all doesnt seem to work in other daws atm driver just drops right away.

Not sure what I am missing here...

shooting from the hip as I am not a Cubase users, but in my experience, ASIO4ALL is a "last-ditch" driver and since Mbox has decent drivers, I see no reason to use ASIO4ALL and would uninstall it. Besides that, the last time I used ASIO4ALL, it not only worked badly, it caused my 003 to not work at all

To further Albee's post, there seems to be some misunderstanding by a LOT of users as to what ASIO4ALL purpose actually is. It is a wrapper for WDM drivers, for devices that don't have their own ASIO drivers (the Mbox does). It is useful if you're trying to use your onboard soundcard for example.

Beyond that, be sure to go through all of the Optimisation Guide, and if you could post your full system specs, that would be helpful.

I hope this is the proper way to copy. Also the Mbox about 3 weeks ago did not glitch at all not sure what happened in that time. (No updates or anything)

Going to try a few things out I will post the progress tomorrow Thank you both for the replies I appreciate you both!

Default Re: FIXED Cubase Crackling AudioTracks! (Mbox2)

I figured a FIX and posted it in the cubase forum: https://www.steinberg.net/forums/vie...640563#p640563

Basically I had too many Visual C++ redistributables installed both 32 and 64bit instead of one or the other so I unistalled and reinstalled all the years only 64bit and updates and my Asio4all driver works perfect like it did a month ago. Although the Mbox original driver is not working even after reinstalled driver. (crackling and pops on a project with 1 audio track and 2 seconds of audio)
