I installed a Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 580 8 Go and Mojave.
But no change, the video engine crashed when I launch Pro Tools 2020.11…
The last thing I can test is a clean Mojave install

Did you also update the BootROM?
I think this and maybe bios or something else might be need to update, I vaguely remember having to upgrade something else when I installed my RX 580 8GB on my Mac Pro 2012 and went to HS

I really thought the new GPU will fix it… It is annoying.
I remember yesterday the bootROM was updated to 140.0.0.0.0, it seems the good one.
I am not at my studio this weekend, I'll investigate on monday.

That is no doubt frustrating And I don't really have an answer or much of a suggestion
As I stated prior on my very similar system with the exact same Graphics Card the video worked fine ????? I just shipped my old system off to be sold but again it was ... and the video engine played fine ???????????

Just out of curiosity have you tried the one (and it may not be related at all But) "blanket fix process" of moving all your plugins to a different location than where PT installs them Like a folder on desk top and see if the video engine works and then if it does then putting them back one at a time or in some manageable number like 5 at a time and keep launching PT with each Plugin reintroduction ( yes tedious but a possible last resort

No I didn't try these kind of things, and to be honest I don't think it is related at this issue, but who knows ?

Anyway because of lack of time I can't test that. I think during next holidays I gonna install a fresh Mojave system. Hope this time it will be Ok !!

This may explain way possibly. 2020.3 they updated the Video Engine and I remember there was something that you had to do to deal with it.
