Keyboard short cut easy question...

I just got a new Mac Pro and I can't get it to where my keyboard controls Pro Tools like my PC did. For instance F8 is no longer a shortcut for highlighting the grabber tool it just goes into mac spaces. Very annoying. How can I get all the shortcuts to talk to pro tools 8 not OSX.

I already went into system preferences in OSX and turned on "use all f1,f2,etc. keys as standard function keys" and that helped a little but not all the way.

system prefs > expose/spaces > uncheck "enable spaces"

If I'm not mistaken, Expose and Dashboard has some function keys and mouse buttons assigned by default. Check the Mac's system preferences for those.

but those are only just a few...F12 should be record but its dashboard, 3 should be record but it doesn't work, command space bar should also be record but it just brings up "spot" in OSX.



Does anyone know how to get the keyboard short cuts to work on a mac?

I'd like to know this too. In sys prefs/keyboard shortcuts I've unchecked everything but still the keyboard shortcuts don't work properly in pro tools.

In the PT Getting Started Guide (I believe) they go through the system tweaks, which cover these. You should go to the System Prefs and then to the Spotlight (uncheck the key commands) and Keyboard and Mouse (Keyboard shortcuts tab, and keyboard tab for laptops to enable the F-keys instead of the volume, brightness, etc functions), as well as the other tabs previously mentioned.
