I'm working with a Digi 002 rack & Pro Tools 7.3.1 on a Mac G5 PPC. I have a terrible time getting the computer to detect the rack; when I do get everything working, my sessions crash unpredictably, because the Mac suddenly decides not to recognize the hardware. I've done everything I could find in manuals & on the Digidesign support info (deleted prefs, databases, etc.) and can't figure out the problem. Can anyone help?

Does the 1394 light on the front panel go off when you lose the connection? It sounds like you have the bad power harness problem. Do a search and you'll find lots of info on this. If that is the problem, then basically you need to call Digi and have them send you a new one and install it yourself. It's really easy to do and should fix the problem.
