Default Waves Mercury 7.02R8 authorization nightmare

Hi everybody,
Just d/l the latest Mercury + SSC Waves 7R8 - 7.0.2R8 ilok assets (immediately replaced with Waves TLC 7 assets) downloaded the latest installer, updated ilok client & driver software THEN...

I got the DREADED where is the Waves Plug Ins folder? nightmare.

Did a Databases & Preferences Helper run/trash, no luck.

Then I remembered the official DIGI fix from Waves 6...
http://www.digidesign.com/index.cfm?...0&itemid=36611

So I did that.

THEN..

Spent the next HOUR trying to get through a Pro Tools plug in authorization /asset check/startup! I kept getting the

"Requires Authorization splash screens" for all 200 plugs I own...

Followed by single OR multiple
"Error An unexpected authorization error 14051 occured. ID: ePAY : 14051 / Dngi : 2027

I "100% iLok own" all of my plugs and they normally load up just fine.

I was getting the 'authorize' screens for GRM, RND, DUY & Princeton Digital and there was no way to get the machine to see the ilok assets!!!

I had to click over 400 dialogs to get Pro Tools to launch. All of them 2 to 5 seconds apart.

Then the "Do you want to move to the unused folder" > No > because it doesn't work anyway.

Now I've been able to get some of the plugs that would load to 'see' the ilok.

This was a total nightmare & I'm dreading tomorrow morning's boot up

Fortunately the Waves folder was found, and I have been working since, albeit a few dozen plugs shy.

Here's all the screenshots I could bear to take, 20:

Anyone got any 'workarounds' I should know about?

I emailed Waves tech support & iLok is next.

Thanks for reading

Hey Walt,

Something went SNAFU for sure by what you are experiencing.

The "where is the Waves plugins folder" can happen if you install waves 7 over waves 6, it sometimes leaves v6 waveshells behind and you get this message, and you have to remove the v6 shells and make sure only the one v7 waveshell is in the folder.

I can't help thinking you may have also experienced an ilok glitch of some kind as other plugs were also giving you ilok auth not found error messages.

Hard to know what to suggest at this stage, but make sure only waves v7 waveshell is in use, i would also go to ilok.com and view the auths on your ilok and check they are all showing ok! then re-install the pace interlock drivers again and do the repair permission yada yada.

Ilok plugged into a USB hub? hub could be failing!! plug directly into the mac if you can.

I would do this before trying to use PT again.

Let us know what happens Monday and we'll be here to help if needed.

Chris

how many iloks do you have?
one single ilok can only hold 118 licences.
I just replaced Diamond bundle... and have 103 licences on my ilok.
My guess is you need some more iloks...
good luck
