How do I BUY an update on the Digi website?
I'm sorry to say this, but while the Digi website is chock-full of useful information, it is most frustrating when trying to find where to go to buy something.
I've already downloaded the update I need, but for the life of me, I can't find where to go to buy it and register it so I can get back to work. Can someone please help me? Thanks. |

Re: How do I BUY an update on the Digi website?
You have to log in to the STORE link..
I believe your store login is different from your My Digi login..

Re: How do I BUY an update on the Digi website?
What update are you talking about? Is it a plugin? Pro Tools update? Are you being asked to register something upon running Pro Tools, or is Pro Tools itself asking for registration before use?
Most of the time, you shouldn't need to register anything for just an update. Otherwise, hit up the DigiStore and see if whatever you updated is there. http://store.digidesign.com/

Re: How do I BUY an update on the Digi website?
Flommer: I logged into the STORE site and there was something that read 'Coming Soon,' so I figured the store wasn't available.
Dism: I'm updating to PTLE 8.01 from 7.0cs5. I know I have to fork over more $$$ because the software is asking for an authorization number that I don't have, but they sure don't make it easy. Thanks. Quote:

You need to DL the full PT8 installer which you won't be able to do until you buy it. The DL is about 4 GB...

Re: How do I BUY an update on the Digi website?
Yes, I just now realized that. So, I'm now on the page titled 'Pro Tools LE 8.0-8.0.1 Mac Support,' on which there is quite a list of downloadable items.... but NONE are Pro Tools LE 8.0.
Why is this stuff so difficult to find? |

Re: How do I BUY an update on the Digi website?
Did you buy it Yet? You can't DL it until you buy it. It will then be available in My Digi..
I did not see any "coming soon" announcement. It was very straight forward getting to that link

Re: How do I BUY an update on the Digi website?
They need to explain better on their pages. When I went to the PTLE 8.0 - 8.0.1 page, and it listed all the downloads except 8.0, it should have explained why the download for 8.0 wasn't there, and what I needed to do in order to get it.
But it gets better (or worse, depending on how you look at it). Once I got to the store site, made my selection and filled in all the necessary information to make the purchase, my purchase was rejected three times due to "an unexpected error." I called Digi - which isn't even a toll-free call, and spent another half-hour as the representative tried to make the purchase for me. He couldn't do it either. He says this same problem has been happening since they put the new site online two weeks ago. But the icing on the cake was that in escalating the incident to the I-T people, the rep said it may take as long as 72 hours for them to get back to me. BOVINE MANURE. If it's taking up to 72 hours to get back to people due to website problems, they've got a lot of customers (existing and potential) who probably aren't very happy. I was then asked if I would go back to the website to fill out a survey about the website. Ummm... no, I don't think so. I've already spent enough of my time trying to make this purchase. I suggested that Avid spend some of their time now, making sure the site works before they put it online and waste the customers' time. This is NOT a good customer experience. And, while I like and have been using Pro Tools for several years now, for my needs there are now other options. This is fixable, Digi... but I am not waiting 72 hours or taking a survey. You want my business? EARN IT. |
