Default Fast Track Ultra - Any problems on a Mac?

I have read good reviews about the Fast Track Ultra, but:

1. "Device not recognized or loses connection with system"
http://forums.m-audio.com/showthread.php?t=1174
Many people are complaining about this on the M-Audio forum, but most of the people seem to be using Windows. Is the problem serious on an Intel Mac, with 10.5.5?

2. Many people with Firewire audio interfaces seem to have problems caused by compatibility issues with hard drives, etc.
Does the Ultra (USB2) cause a lot of Pro Tools error mesages e.g. Reduce plug-ins/Increase buffer size, etc?

Thanks for your help.

Richard
