003 Console displays no plugin parameter

hi,

i newly upgraded from digi 002 to 003 factory and today its arrived....

i noticed that most of my plugins not displaying their parameters anymore on the 003.
on the 002 it worked well.
for example the sonalksis bundle.
if i press the insert button on 003 and select the SV315 compressor,
it displays only "SnlksSV315S=2" and "Page 1/0". now i can step through 3 pages but all are empty.
no parameters.

only the digidesign plugs, waves and ik multimedia works. all my other fx and softsyths
like arturia, NI komplete, rob papen stuff, AAS etc... show empty pages only.

is it a bug or what i am doing wrong ?

I have the same issue with my TC Electronic PowerCore plugins ... they are wrapped through VST2RTAS!

Digi Design any ideas ?

Please start with the steps in the OS X Setup and General Troubleshooting sticky at the top of this forum, specifically those areas on trashing preferences.

Let us know if this helps at all.

Also - are you running the latest versions of all those plug-ins?

I've tried everything. I started out with a complete clean system, only Pro Tools and plugins. All plugins and Pro Tools are the latest version out there ... if I swap the 003 with the 002 everything is fine :-( but it's been send back to You Digidesign 8-)

any other solutions ? The symptoms are the same on my Power PC and Intel system.

BTW my systems are:

Power Macintosh G5 Quad 2.5GHz 4.5GB ram

MacBook Pro Intel Core 2 Duo 2.33GHz 4GB ram

Both systems are running Mac OS X 10.4.10

hello digitechsupport,
no luck.
gone through the troubleshooting steps and have latest plugin versions installed.
still the same empty parameter pages.

i've also tested it on a fresh installed macbook pro as well. same story


there is also another thing...
when i press 003s right arrow key only once to switch or nudge fader bank, some really magic things happens.

- the cursor (timeline) returns to zero.

- i cant scroll anymore.
the scrollbar always jumps back to zero.

- its not possible to replace the timeline position marker with the mouse.
it always jumps back to zero as well.

- when i try to rename a track in that "magic mode" (double click on a trackname), the whole keyboard
and the mouse is blocked. the rename dialog pops up and i cant type anything.
i even can not switch to the finder to finish this text (just noticed).
if i press command on the keyboard or on the 003 itself all my track names "running" through the rename dialog window.
(same as command+hold left cursor arrow on the keyboard)
i canot cancel the rename dialog with mouse or keyboard. only with the ESC
button on the 003.

so how to to switch or nudge fader banks now ?
i need to press the right arrow always twice and then the left arrow once to go one step back. then everything is normal.

You should contact tech support by phone for further troubleshooting and to arrange for a repair or replacement if your unit turns out to be defective.

I didn't noticed that troubles with plugs. I just checked them. I have only troubles with wrapped plugs, BFD and some TL| ones...

So, we all have exactly the same problems, plugs + "magic mode".

I also noticed when I have a -6086 error (generaly due to BFD), every leds on the 003 are switched off : for example, a track that is muted has no more red led at its mute button, if I press that button, the track is on, and I have to press it again to have my red light on... And this for all tracks, even Bank/Nudge/Zoom functions... What about you ?

Digi, do you really think it could be a hardware problem ?
