BEST SOFT SAMPLER FOR MY HD3 AND AKAI LIB. ?????

HI THERE.... HAS ANYONE USED A SOFT-SAMPLER INSIDE PRO TOOLS? I NEED SOMETHING THAT CAN IMPORT AKAI SAMPLES AND AKAI PROGRAMS (KEYMAPPED). I HAVE TRIED KOMPAKT AND KONTAKT.... THEY ARE ABSOLUTE PIGS! JUST LIKE THEIR TECH SUPPORT. I AM THINKING OF MACH FIVE. ANYTHING ELSE? PLEASE HELP.

I absolutely love Kontakt, although I'm leaning towards cured ham, not pigs, they're a little classier than that. So...'pigs', in regards to your opinion on a software application means what exactly? Just curious.

MachFive does a stellar job of converting Akai (and E-mu +Roland too). I've converted all my old sounds, hundreds of banks, without even one hitch.

How are you getting Kontakt to work?? Whenever I load a piano sample (the one that came with kontakt) it will play great for a couple of minutes then totally crap out on me. No sound, just clicks and pops. I notice that it mostly does it with the piano patch. That was the whole reason I bought the damn thing. Anyway, if you can help out, that would be great!

I'll second Reason. It's rock solid stable, and Prop Heads provide a free utility for converting Akai samples (S1000 & S3000).

Plus it's so much more than just a sampler.

I bought it as a replacement for Soft Sample Cell -- just to use the sampler. But I'm happy to have the other components available.
