Default .ptx file not showing up in "recent files" list

This isn't a major issue, but I just started a new project and have found that it never shows up in the "Recent Files" list. When I click "Open from disk" it goes directly to the correct folder (the last one I accessed), but I find it odd.

It also never shows "Save" grayed out after I manually save it, although the time stamp on the file in Windows Explorer shows that it was indeed saved @ say, 5:44 p.m.

Any idea why this is happening?

It's a .ptx created from a template based on the project I just completed and these situations never occurred with that .ptx.

I tried renaming using "Save as" hoping that would resolve this issue, but no go.

Any ideas?

Trashing Prefs is step #1 for "odd behavior" and this sounds "odd" to me

Thanks, Albee. Was afraid of that.

I always hate doing that because I'm afraid I'll miss something when resetting my prefs.

Use Trasher, save and restore your prefs.

Thanks, The Weed...

I was going to ask about that; I have Trasher 3.

Do I just do this is two passes?

Prefs, DSI Prefs, Databases, Plug-Ins Database, Avid Downloads EX
------->Backup files/folders ticked above
--------->Restore

Plug-In Settings, I/O Settings, Track Presets, Session Templates, Plug-In Maps, Clips Effects Presets, Fade Presets
------->Backup files/folders ticked above
--------->Restore

Or can it be done in one pass?

Is there anything I shouldn't backup/restore?

(If I remember correctly it might be Databases from the first group that gets wonky and might not be wise to backup/restore.)

I've had Trasher for a while and I think only used it once when reinstalling.

Please let me know, if you would.

Thanks!

I close PT. Then I Backup my Preferences, then trash Preferences, Databases and Plug-in Databases. Then empty the Recycle Bin, restart the computer, Restore my Preferences and start PT. I do this usually once a week, whenever I update/upgrade any software even peripherally associated with PT or when PT acts up.

The above is standard practice and the first thing Avid Support will recommend whenever PT "acts up".

Thanks so much, The Weed.

I followed your instructions and when I reopened, sure enough my latest project was at the top of the Recent Files list.

It's still not showing "Save" grayed out after a manual save. This is something I've noticed sporadically over the past couple of years (I'm currently on 12.4).

I'll adopt your method of doing this every week.
