Default Unable to make LE work on new PC

Bought Mbox2 Pro a week a go and it worked pretty well on very my old PC - but decided to by a new machine for more power: Intel Core 2 Duo 2,66, MSi mainboard P35 Platinum, 4GB Ram.

Pro Tools opens, but when trying to playback a session I get the following message:

"Audio processing is conflicting with other Cpu tasks. If this occurs often, reducing the H/W Buffer size in the Play Back Engine dialog may help prevent the problem (-9129)"

Now and then I also get a message about Clock problems.

The Mbox does play back sounds from Windows Media Player.

I've download various hot fixes for the duo core processor. Tried all kinds of settings in the playback engine.

Tried LE 7.3 and LE 7.4.

Any body got any suggestions?

Regards

Kenneth

Thanx - but how do I see if I have a pci card that is conflicting with PT?

Since my first post I've tried the following - with no succes:

http://www.digidesign.com/index.cfm?...0&itemid=18921

"-9093, -9094, -9129 error messages occuring on Windows operating systems.
For Intel-based systems, updating the Intel Ultra ATA storage controller to the Standard Dual PCI IDE controller resolves these errors."

http://www.digidesign.com/index.cfm?...0&itemid=21259

"DAE Errors 9092, 9093, or 9094, 9129 on Windows XP systems with dual core processors.
These errors can be caused by problems with processor scheduling in dual core processors. The solution is to assign Pro Tools to run on a specific processor core."

http://www.digidesign.com/index.cfm?...0&itemid=21610

"Constant 9129 and sometimes 6086 buffer errors on otherwise compatible system.
Disabling Intel SpeedStep in the system BIOS has been shown to fix this problem. SpeedStep has been known to be used in Dell Laptops - specifically we have seen this on the Dell 8500."

I couldn't find anything about SpeedSteep in the Bios.

Well - guess I should have bought a Mac...

In the bios go to cpu configuration and find intel speed step and disable it.Also try to disable your netwok card and see if this solves your problem .Also there is a troubleshooting guide in the duc.

Are you using the AC adapter for the Mbox 2 Pro? If so, disconnect it. Reboot the computer, relaunch Pro Tools and see if you still get the error.

Place the file Tech Support Utility.exe in your Program Files\Digidesign\Pro Tools folder. If you like make a shortcut of the file & put it on your desktop.

Yes, I've tried to reboot with the Mbox power off. And I've disabled Speed Step (EISP Enhanced Intel Speed Step), tried deactivating ethernet card, tried changing RAID mode in the Bios (it's back to IDE)... Nothing works. Tried updating PACE drivers - now device manager tells me Ilok Driver is missing and can't find it - but that's probably my least worry right now...

Chances are very good that its the Samsung drives actually, Disable AHCI in BIOS and set them to standard IDE under SATA or RAID configuration. If that doesn't work check into jumpering the Drives into SATA 150 mode.

Short story Samsung SATA II drives seem to have a issue with the P35 chipset. I'm assuming your Drives are SATA II not IDE.

Speed Step may be listed as EIST for Enhanced Intel extended Speedstep Technology. Disable Speed step and C1E (Advanced Halt State)

Core 2 Duos and Core 2 Quads are all working with PT on the ASUS boards. It's probably not a Chipset/Processer problem but a HDD related problem.

Thanx - the drives were all ready set to IDE - tried changing them to RAID and ACHI but couldn't start Windows (I admit that I don't now much about the bios). How do I set the drives into SATA 150 mode?

I've already disabled EIST as mentioned above. I don't know how to find C1E (advanced halt state). Browsing the MSI Mainboard PDF didn't help either - no results on keywords C1E or advanced halt.

By the way I reinstalled PT 7.4 once again - now the error message code has changed from 9129 to 9092 - every thing else remains the same.
