Default Cubase command 8 midi map here

Well it took me a while so to save you some time here is the XML document you load into cubase to get the command 8 working. I even mapped out some transport buttons because the normal ones don't send midi cc data in standalone mode.

here is what you need to do
1. download the xml document

2. Put the command 8 into standalone mode

3. Open cubase and go to the devices menu , select device setup and click import. this is where you import the XML file for the command 8

now you can see that the Faders have been mapped to midi chan 1-16 (press bank) , the panners have been mapped, solo and mute has been mapped and all send data back to the command 8!
The transport buttons are set out above the pan encoders. RTZ, REW, FWD, STOP, PLAY, RECORD in that order! You can even go into the midi edit on the command 8 and set the buttons from latch to momentory so they act like the real thing ! I hope this helps some people . Another good idea would be to set faders 1- 8 to midi and 9-16 as Vst so you can control both from the command 8!

Peace

This is great! I don't use Cubase, but I appreciate the time you put in to share this with the world. I am planning on working on a map for Logic soon.

Thanks again.

XSDATA....Thank you for your Command 8 midi map. How do I download that file as an xml file? Or can I just copy it as a text document?

Just rightclick(PC)/ctrl+click(mac) and save as to your desktop.

Then in device setup you can add a generic remote control and load the .xml file to it. Good luck, I personally gave up and returned the unit, worth nothing outside of Pro Tools...
