Compatibility , HD speed, version

Hello LE Brothers,

I cannot find info. on the following issues:

Background:
I have a Mac Powerbook G4
OSX Tiger 10.4.11
CPU: PowerPC
CPU Speed: 1.33 GHZ
Memory 2 GB
Bus Speed: 167 MHZ
Interface: original Mbox

I installed LE 7.4 and it works. Can I install LE 8.0.1 with the Mbox and what speed does the external hard drive need to be? I put all files on an external hard drive.

I cannot seem to find the hard drive speed info. at all.

If anyone can solve this for me it would be greatly appreciated as I am going to Europe with this computer and will edit there. It would be great if I could install the same version of LE (8.0.1) that is on my main desktop Mac.

Your macbook appears to be on OS Tiger. PT8 must be on Leopard.

The external hard drive should be 7200 rpm and an Oxford chipset (if using firewire, which is recommended.

The original Mbox will work up to 8.0.1 which you have. But as mentioned, it needs to be on Leopard, not Tiger.
