Any Firewire or USB burner should work with the B&W G3. Just make sure the OS and the dirvers are the latest and you shouldn't have any problems.

I have the same comp as you, and I bought a Sony 32x burner (any internal EIDE burner will do) and a Firewire enclosure with the Oxford 911 chip for much less than an integral Firewire burner would have cost. Perfectly happy with the results and the enclosure can be used for making internal hard drives portable, in case you need that (I do that when carrying files around, it takes ten minutes to swap out, and you get terrific flexibility).
