PT11 to PT11HD upgrade path

I have a license for PT11 ($699) and now need to have VCA's multichannel etc. I cannot find an upgrade path to do this, looks like I have to buy a complete new license which is crazy.

Anybody able to help?

Not crazy because you're also going to need new hardware. What you need is an equivalent of the old CPTK but that doesn't exist anymore for PT11 users.

Those are features in the HD11 versions and there is no direct upgrade path from "Vanilla" PT11 to 11HD so either you sell your PT11 license and buy HDNative with a OMNI HD or similar. Or you find a second hand HD10 license and upgrade to 11HD and sell your PT11 license on ebay or here on the DUC.

Sorry to bring bad new but thats just the way Avid want it to be with HD licenses. Hope you find a way to get HD and Good Luck

No I received ProTools 10HD when I purchased my Native card and OMNI interface, so I have AVID hardware, and I have a PT11 license but I really need PT11HD.

I am all straight with hardware, just need to upgrade the software a little, I never upgraded to CPTK from DVtoolkit 2 ever since it was part of PT10HD so I should have some options rather than buying the whole thing over again.

This should not be this hard !

How did you get your PT11 license asset? Is it really a PT11 vanilla asset or an HD asset? Was it a separate purchase of something like an 11 Rack or did you do an upgrade from PT10HD? Because if you did an upgrade from PT10HD then you should have a PT11HD asset (unless there was some screw-up along the way which has been known to happen).

Why don't you upgrade your PT10HD license to PT11HD as you get 10HD aswell in the upgrade bundle to run on the same computer?!

If you already sold your HD10 license I would sell the PT11 as you say here and lok for a used PT10 HD license and go that route.
But if you already have PT10HD I would just upgrade that to 11/10HD bundle á $599 and sell the 11 license anyway

When you purchase a HD Native card you would have received Pro Tool HD. Presumably Pro Tools HD 10. You can upgrade that to Pro Tools HD 11 for $599. http://shop.avid.com/store/product.d...25865714804400. Is that or is that not what you are after?

As has clearly been stated there is no Avid upgrade path from a non-HD version of Pro Tools to any HD version.

its a standalone PT11 vanilla license.
