TechTools Pro3/ Rage128 upgrade for Blue G3

Can someone please advise? I currently have Norton installed, (running ProTools Mix-Plus V 5.01 on a Blue G3 with OS9), but have been told I need Tech Tools Pro3 and Conflict Catcher... then someone else said never use Conflict Catcher... is Tech Tools better than Norton? What does it do that Norton doesn't? What's wrong, if anything, with Conflict Catcher? Any advice?

Also, I tried to upgrade the Rage 128 graphics card from AppleCare Service to fix my vertical lines problem on my monitor, (when I first boot up) but it caused major extension conflicts... I think with QuickTime... narrowed it down to the QuickTime PowerPlug extension... but I could never get it to work... then I couldn't load ProTools... had to just reload the old extensions to get everything back up...
Any help or suggestions will be deeply appreciated... Thanks
