Cannot record/play session on external drives
Hi again.
I have 2 external Seagate 300 Gig Firewire/USB drives. They are both connected via Firewire. The first external drive is connected to the second ( lower ) port on the computer and it daisy chains to the second external drive. The 002R is connected to the first ( upper ) Firewire port on the computer. Both drives are formatted Mac OS extended ( journaled ). Both have the Oxford 911 chipset. Both are set as record drives. Both are 7200 rpm drives. One is partitioned into two equal partitions ( 2X139 Gig ), one is not, full size ( 279 Gig ). I can open sessions on either drive but when I hit play or try to record I get a 9131 error. I tried opening the session as I would using my audio drive but saving to the external drive....same deal. I bought these to back up to. I have my system on one partition on the one drive and the second partition is blank. On the other non-partitioned drive I have stuff like iTunes and iPhoto library and my audio drive Pro Tools sessions. Should my audio drive go down though, I would like to know I can record to these drives and keep a session going. Why can I not record or play a session off these drives? Other apps open fine on these drives, I opened Garritan Jazz and Big Band and got samples loaded etc. Any ideas anyone? G4 MDD 1.25GHZ DP, AGP, 1.25GB RAM, OSX10.4.6, Digi 002R, PT LE 7.1, ATA drives..Seagate 200 Gig System drive, Seagate 200 Gig dedicated Audio drive. Firewire drives... 2X Seagate 300 Gig external drives. All drives 7200 rpm.
