This is a 002 Rack system.

The laptop came with SP2 already installed. I doubt that I can remove it.

Well, this problem should be resolved by performing the DEP Fix and running the Pro Tools LE 6.4 CS9 updater. I don't believe we have any cases where this problem could not be resolved. Once or twice we've seen the CS9 update fail to "take" on the first try, or a restart was required for the update to take effect. Perhaps this happened to you? You should see the version number change in the Pro Tools application properties after you apply the CS9 update to something like 6.4.0.138. In a few other cases, going to the computer manufacturer's website and updating all software and drivers has solved the problem.

Pro Tools LE 6.7 upgrade info here. In terms of SP2 compatibility, the upgrade is the same as 6.4 CS9.

Hope this helps,

ok my problem is that when i try to Install my Mbox, My whole system freezes when Windows goes to find the actual driver file.
A system freeze on the driver install has usually pointed towards a drive compatibility problem. I can't tell from your Sandra report what type of drives are installed but if your config is similar to others who've had this issue then it is likely you have SATA drives installed or an active RAID config. Removing these drives, disabling any RAID controllers in BIOS, and installing XP and Pro Tools to an IDE drive should solve this problem.

My digi 002 rack keeps shutting off on me. I cannot use any of the buttons. The 1394 and sample rate lighs also flicker on and off. I can use my 002 and thus pro tools for only about a max of 15 minutes before this problem occurs again.

Hey Ducky,
We reproduced your Strip Silence bug in-house. This is the first step in getting it fixed. Thanks for the solid recipe.

Hey PhilyG
This sounds like a hardware problem with your 002R, not your Dell machine. Please give CS a buzz for help.

Another user found he had to disable the "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" in the device manager to relieve CPU errors in this thread.

That fixed it. PT runs seemless even with network enabled. What a relief! Thanx a lot.

Maybe this should appear in the answerbase.

Kind regards

Achim

Excellent news, thank you for reporting back. And thanks to EEmarty for finding and posting the conflict in the first place. We will add the issue to the answerbase.

Hi Digi,

This made not a lick of difference. As I mentioned before, my performance is just bearable.

However, I can only achieve 24 Tracks on the Davec test (not sure if this is digi sanctioned but seems to be the standard around here) compareed with 32+20 or so from the AMD folk among us. In addition I can and sometimes get sporadic 9094 and 9093 errors yet to date I have not been able to detect a steady pattern.

I am going to buy another drive as a matter of course. This will be then dedicated to audio instead of the partition arrangment I have at the moment. I am hoping for an increase in performance from this.

I have posted my system specs below. Any help is appreciated.
