i did it, i need adc and pdc, i just bought 2 uad-1 cards and started a mix last night and realized how irritating it is to have to compensate for plug in delay, i'm sure i will get used to it if i have to but it's making me think of changing software...

Filled in and sent.
EnergyXT, a sequencer/VST host written by one guy on his own, costs $55 and has full PDC and "freeze" tracks as standard.
There's no reason I can see that Pro Tools LE shouldn't have both.

Yeah.

How hard can it be to change the timing of track-playback so the delay from the plugin is compensated for?

It's a bit harder then that (you have to manage delay along the whole paths i.e. through busses, ect). but is not impossible...to "copy" the code already written for PT HD and paste it into PT LE
