888|24 Calibration question

I have an old (perfectly functioning) 888|24 w/ PT6

I followed the directions in the manual and it's pretty simple. However have a few quick questions:

1) All my outs are at -20 db BUT I can't seem to adjust them them with the output calibration trims on the 888|24 hardware. I've done some pretty dramatic turns with no effect on inputs on meters, calibration mode, etc. Do these trims actually work?

2) Input pots seem to work fine as I get adjustment feedback in calibration mode. However, I noticed in's 1-6 will only go down to -22 or 23 db. In's 7 and 8 can be calibrated to -20 and lower. I saw a previous thread that the range of adjustment for each pot may vary, but the discrepancy here seems pretty intentional.

Not that I want anything hotter than -20 in anyway (-20 which is pushing it for headroom), just wondering if anybody had any insights.
