Default Free Tutorials for Pro Tools LE?

Does anyone know where I can find any FREE Pro Tools LE tutorials? I've had pro tools for about 8 months now, and I'd like to expand on my recording/editing/mastering skills. I'm the only person I know that uses Pro Tools, so any free tutorials would be nice.

thanks,

phil b.

Check the Digizine offered by Digidesign right here. Just click the link at the bottom of this page for the Digidesign site and click Digizine near the top of the Digidesign home page.

Hope this helps.

Hello. The best tutorial comes with your system. It is called the Pro Tools Reference Guide. Look for it on your computer system, or under the help menu inside of Pro Tools. The ebst resource about Pro Tools, bar none. You already have it!

There are several good reference books out. The Digi 001 video is not much of a tutorial but has some value. Based on your tunes you have a basic grasp of the process already. I think a little verb would give the tracks some depth. I liked The Dream Of You and All In All especially!

Yeah, free tutorials are fine, but buy one of the instruction books, they have much more information, and it's well organized so you can follow it along. I got mine for $15 bucks, and in two months I had learned more than I had in a year of experimenting and using online tutorials. May not cover everything, but it's close.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Dear rlcowakids,

thanks for the props on Dream I Had and All in All...we recorded those songs in a live take (all 3 of us) and added the bass, lead guitars, and vox later.

as far as the reverb, we added some on the vox (and some reverb from our guitar amps), but we're really going for a natural sound, and unfortunately, our 10x12 room with 6'8" ceiling doesn't provide for much of an ambient sound!

I do have a decent grasp of general techniques, but I'd like to push it. I'm recording other artists, so I'd kinda like to know more. Any suggestions?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Rabidium,

thanks for the advice. To give you a little back drop, I have the "Producing in the Home Studio with ProTools" by David Franz, but sometimes I just need some clues or advice that I can't look up in a book. In tutorials, sometimes you'll find techniques that you wouldn't think of on your own. If I want to create a cross fade, I can look that up. but it's the things that I don't think of that I'd like a little push in. Any suggestions for those tutorials?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Thanks bryan bassett for the link. I ran across that website as well when I was doing a google search, but that tutorial is over a hundred bucks. I know I'm cheap, but I'd rather get something 2nd rate that's free than take the chance at ordering a tutorial that isn't laid out in a way that I could learn from. The demo wasn't half bad, but surely didn't warrent a benjamin.

regards,

phil borkstrom
