Default Digi 001 +Garage Band

Howdy out there. This is my first post- glad to be on board. I read on a Mac-enthusiast website that Digi 001 can be used to record vocals etc. into Garage Band. I thought that the Digi was automatically and exclusively linked to Pro Tools LE (I'm running 6.4). Any experience using the Digi in other recording packages?
