So, back to the original question, it appears that 12.7..1 is running great since I didn't see too many complains about it here on this forum. I may upgrade from 12.6 on my HDX rig

Just started on it this weekend and have only played around with a couple of previous sessions, so far it has been good .

Yes PT HD 12.7.1 looking great here but still 12.4 is the BOMB and might be the best PT version since HD8 days

So 12.7.1 is a good release with midi features (we call them bugfixes) addd and PT 12.4 is a Great release all IMHO of course and these are on Macbooks and Mac Trashcan 6Core with 10.8.5 up to Sierra 10.12.3.

Well worth a try though.

It really depends on what you are running and how much or what type of a workload you have. Post, Scoring etc. VI's You have to look at all of that.
I am still on 12.6.1 and am fine there. Waiting to see what's next. I usually wait a few weeks unless you are having real trouble with existing software. I have a pretty good 17" MacBook Pro I test things on which is set up like my Mac Pro trash can in the studio and if it runs well there, then I update usually after that. Sometimes I just make the plunge based on a previous update that had no real problems. Again, lot's of thing to figure out as usual, but not really having much trouble since 12.5.2 and 12.6 updates.
