Default Moving to a new computer

Hello,

I bought the student version of Pro Tools 11 in 2014 and have been running it on my Dell computer. I just recently bought the 2015 Macbook Pro and have been trying to download Pro Tools to the new laptop.

It seems like what I'm supposed to do is just download it onto my computer and move my iLok key. (Correct me if I am wrong) However, I only see Pro Tools 12 as an option for download on Avid.com. I don't have the license for Pro Tools 12 and I'm not really interested in purchasing it. I tried downloading, and as you would expect, the license for Pro Tools 11 on my iLok doesn't work with it.

Is their any way for me to just download Pro Tools 11 to this new computer?

If you log onto your MyAvid account, and select My Products, there should be links to download any registered Avid software(you probably need to click a button, box or arrow to open the downloads) Before you get to far, you might want to check for compatibility with PT11 and your new MBP OS.

To the OP - all the above and this below:

New Macs all come with Sierra and PT11 isn't okayed compatibility-wise with it. A possibility is to split the system drive into two partitions and install OSX 10.9.5 to run PT11 with. Also new Macs all have USB3 ports and there's known issues with iLok and the usual remedy is a USB2 hub between the iLok & computer.

Hey, thanks for your responses. It seems like the main issue I'm having is that I have a Pro Tools 10/11 license but the download link for 10 or 11 is nowhere to be found. Instead I have a link for Pro Tools 12. I never bought 12 and I don't know why my Pro Tools 11 link isn't there.

You opened/expanded all the disclosure arrows and you say you have NO you don't have a download link there? If so that isn't right. Maybe somebody can escalate this to Jeffro?

Yes that's the issue I am have. My Pro Tools 11 download links have changed to Pro Tools 12 download links. After searching through the archives and whatnot, it seems like others may have had this issue as well.

My temporary workaround is downloading the Pro Tools 11 free trial.
