How to digitize compact cassettes with Pro Tools HDX and HD Omni?

I would have to digitize some compact cassettes, and the cassette deck has only RCA outputs. I guess they are -10 dBV level. I wonder is there any difference in quality if I connect RCA outs from c-cassette deck to the front instrument level inputs of HD Omni or to the line inputs in back (and set the input to -10 dBV in hardware setup dialog)?

Either should work fine. Or use direct box(I have a Radial PC DI that has RCA inputs)

Thanks! I already digitized some cassettes using front instrument level inputs, but started to wonder if there is some instrument-bias (electric guitar etc...) going on on those, which would compromise my result from c-cassette.

Any difference is likely to be impedance, so it might be worth experimenting to see if you can hear any change

I will test it. Line in should be the correct choice if it matters. I wonder what the "wrong impedance" would sound?

Seriously, only thing you need to consider is not clipping the stuff on digital.
