Default Opening older Pro Tools Sessions

I am trying to open an older Pro Tools project with Pro Tools First but the project file is greyed out and it won't let me select it. I think this was a Pro Tools 7 project and has the .ptf extension. Can this be opened somehow with Pro Tools First?

No, unfortunately PT first uses cloud based "Projects" rather than normal PT "Sessions". If it's not in your cloud account, PT first wont open it.

Thanks for the reply. Any other way to open older Pro Tools projects in another program? I no longer have Pro Tools.

You may need pro tools 10 or earlier. (If Sound designer II files)

Best way is to export each track that you have on that project, then import them on your choice of DAW. Since they were exported(bounced) they should be aligned on the next DAW you'd want it to be on.

On your PT first window on the left side you will see open.
click on that, on the bottom you will see convert session, click on it
and you can import your old session WITHOUT the 3dr party plugin,
you can only import 3 project and DONT save the in the cloud.
save them local.
