Hope you get this sorted out. My 1155 build with the same mobo("Deluxe" version) was a complete bust for Pro Tools(but makes a great office PC). If you have a firewire interface, then you likely need an approved FW card as the onboard VIA FW controller does not work with my 003 at all(a SIIG card with a TI chip worked well enough). Personally, I would download and install 10,3,6. Your iLok asset will open both versions(and they can both be installed on the same drive). You may find better performance with 10(its worth a try) and you will have tons more options for 3rd party RTAS for now(its gonna be a few months before the 3rd party companies get with the new AAX plugin format).

@eddie, do me a favor...launch Pro Tools, then during the splash screen, open up the Task Manager window, and choose the Processes tab. Tell me if you see a process called digiSPTIService64.exe running or not (it should be running).

If you find that the process is not running, then some how the service registration for the CD ripping service PT 11 uses for red-book audio got borked. To remedy, do the following...
  1. Right click on your Pro Tools 11 icon and select 'Open file location' from the context menu
  2. In the Explorer window that opens, copy the path at the top in the address edit field
  3. Open a command prompt window and type cd [space]
  4. Paste what you copied from the clipboard, and hit enter
  5. Now in the same prompt, type digiSPTIService64.exe /Service
  6. Now try to launch again and verify that the service is now running and your problem is resolved

Let us know if that fixes your problem for you.

EDIT: Depending on your privileges, you may have to launch the command prompt with the "Run as administrator" option (via right-click on the command prompt icon).

lol, it's an old word around where I live.

I remember 'borking' when eating vegetables as a child. They literally slid down my throat then slid staight back up & out! ...= system rejection

Still hanging for me...is this a Windows 7 Professional issue?
Seems other Windows 7 users have home editions...

I follow all the steps - service says "starting" but never switches to "running".
When I force the service to start (the service returns - failed to start service)

Please help
