Outboard gear and connecting to 002
I want to use my outboard compressor on my vocal track before it hits the hard drive. If I use the I/O screen and balanced inputs and outputs etc. isn't the vocal going to hard drive and then out to the compressor?
Would I have to buy a preamp (my compressor has no phantom power) and run my mike into it and then into the compressor and then into a 002 line in? Can you tell...the roadie always did the set up.
