24 fps video not working on 12.8 or 12.8.1

Just tried loading in a 24fps video in multiple different file formats. Updated from 12.8 to 12.8.1 and still same issue. No frame preview in the video track, and black screen in video window. Tried both the Blackmagic output and the local video window. Blackmagic driver has been working fine btw.
Converted same video to 23.98 and it works like a charm.

Anyone else have this issue?

Just a thought... When you converted the video to 23.98, is there a chance you converted with a different codec as well? And maybe that is what made it work?

I would try to convert the video again, but don't actually change the framerate, just change the codec and see if it ends up working.

Hi -I don't have this issue -using Pt12.8.1 and 24fps DNxHD36 with no problems.

these are useful test video files.

On the video track under the "frames/block" drop down do you see 24fps? what colour is the text? -it should be white, if its red you have sync/frame rate setting issue.

Hey all responders,

Thanks for the ideas, but my colleague seems to have figured out it was some type of resolution error. Not sure exactly as I wasn't doing the hands on, but the specs are screenshot below. Unfortunately couldn't send any samples of this video, as it's watermarked. See if this makes sense to anyone. I believe we had issue with a different 24 fps that had previously worked as well.


Now on to my "missing codec/unsupported file" issue for a ProRes that I am getting for my 12.8 upgrade. Doesn't seem to be a solution for that yet either judging by other recent posts.
