Default Constant H/W buffer errors -6101 -6104 -9128

I have a brand new Unibody Macbook Pro and I have been having constant problems. I know officially 10.5.6 is not supported by Digi but I know many users not having these issues and many people online seem to be fine also.

I keep getting a -9128 cpu power error when I hit play. It seems to be more often with songs with addictive drums by XLN, but it does it with other songs also, and BFD. I usually will get 10 or so constant errors all jumping between 9128, 6101 and 6104 and then they will go away for a long time and only come back here and there a lot of times I can record a whole song and not have the error again.

I had a coreaudiod not responding that I saw info online to rename the Digidesign CoreAudio.plugin and it would resolve it... I thought this might be my ticket and with that fixed the problem might reside... This did fix the coreaudio not responding but the errors still occur.

I have searched high and low on google and searched the forum here and can't find the answer to my question. Anyone? Please?

If your LE interface is USB e.g. Mbox 2 - this might help:

I'm not sure about the unibody MacBook Pro, but the earlier MacBooks and MacBook Pro laptops had only one of the two USB sockets that was recommended for audio use. On my MacBook Pro, the left USB socket is the one that is recommended.

Hope this helps.

I have a brand new Unibody Macbook Pro with 10.5.6 and an mbox2 the USB recommendation could be the ticket! I always plug the MBox into the same USB because for a bit there the 2nd one wasn't powering things right until I took the battery out for 15 minutes then it reset and worked fine... I don't think I have ever even used the other USB port... I will try it and report back.

I also tried 7.4.2 and had the same errors previously.. I forgot to mention that in my OP.

I also had these errors on 7.4.2 as well as PT8. 7.3 on tiger was a gem and also 7.4 when it first came out. I have noticed these errors since using leopard and have been having problems with the cpu meter spiking on 7.4.2 and 8.0. particularly 8.0. all plugins up to date, upgraded my ram to 2gig. I posted a previous regarding this with my specs etc had some great answers for fixes from people that i have tried unfortunately to no avail. I have seen a lot of posts regarding this and would be nice to see what digi think?

I thought the poster with the USB option mighta fixed it because it started without the error right off the bat but then errored after a minute of playing and then after a reboot it was doing the error right off the bat just like the other USB port. I think it must be strongly related to drums because the errors happen rarely if at all one just audio tracks.. It must be BFD/BFD2, Addictive Drums, or Reason for the errors to happen... Could it be a midi conflict somehow? Thats the only constant between those programs I can think of.

Once again my system specs are

Unibody 2.4GHZ Macbook Pro
2GB of DDR3
external hard drive for the BFD sounds and now my Pro Tools projects as it was recommended to move them to an external to fix this problem (however it hasn't helped and I never had these problems on my old windows laptop or my sons super slow dell ran with less errors... you just had to wait for it)
MBox2
iLok
I have tried it with a USB hub and without, MBox is never on the hub just the iLok and my external mouse.

I have bootcamp and XP installed I remember having errors on that install too but I can't remember which they were I think they were the cpu overload and not the h/w buffer errors. I will boot to it in a sec and check which the were.. perhaps this is more a DDR3 problem?

I didn't have the cpu overload error at all actually... I had constant -9092 -9093 and -9094 errors "the system held off interupts, try increasing the h/w buffer" under windows. (this was using 7.4.2 under windows I didn't upgrade it.)

I am completely stumped... this macbook has been great for everything but recording and its worse than my sons ancient dell with Pro Tools.

I have set the DAE playback buffer at level 0 400 ms and most the errors have subsided.. I am getting occasional errors at first boot -9128 but the constant errors for 10 minutes are gone.. this could just be short term but something helped. *shrug*

****EDIT****

Ok nevermind... they are back.... I am really starting to get frustrated here. I was told that the reason I was having problems is 7.4.2 is the one that was supported for the newer macs so I payed for it. I payed to upgrade all my software that didn't have free updates and now it still is running like crap and errors left and right Thankfully I was able to try my drummers version of 8.0 but it didn't help if anything I have more errors.
