Default Crackling using ADAT interface with pre tools Please help!!!

I am using a MAC pro running OS 10.4.9 combo and a 002 interface with pro tools 7.3 and as I said in another post a motu 8pre connected to the 002 via optical cable. I had a problem originally with not getting any signal into pro tools via the motu 8pre through the 002 but with all your help I managed to get this working thank you. I now have a new problem that I am getting crackling on the motu 8pre's inputs. I ensured the sample rates matched up and I can't see what the problem is I hope you can help?

Are you clocking the 002 off the motu? If not, that could be, otherwise I dont know. I have pt 6 and there is an option under the hardware setup (i think) that is "ignore buffer underrun errors during recording". If this option is turned on, you could get cracks when monitoring, but they would not be recorded to disk. I suppose yours are making it to disk...

I had this same issue, this fixed it. Go into your hardware settings and set to external adat clock.
