Default Can Pro Tools report latency?

Some of my plugins causes a slight latency to the tracks they're used on. Is it possible to have PT report the exact latency? If so, how? It's hard trying to nudge the track manually to make it line up perfectly with the other tracks.

ADC is suppose to compensate for PI latency if the manufacturer has correctly stated what that latency is.
You can show the latency delay numbers in ether the Mix or Edit windows, I prefer the Mix Window myself

ADC is a feature of PT9 and later, but it needs to be enabled in two places; under Setup>Playback Engine, and Delay Compensation needs to be checked near the bottom of the Options menu. Under the View menu, select Mix Window Shows, and check Delay Compensation and this will add a row of boxes below the faders on the MIX window showing each track's latency, delay compensation and total latency. If you have a track showing red numbers, then you can nudge that track as required and disable the compensation for that track by right-clicking on the compensation box(since you have manually compensated for that track).

albee,

Where is the Delay Compensation Setting under Playback Engine for PT 11 in Setup? All I see is Dynamic Plug-In Processing.

PT 11, Windows 8.1, Digi 002Rack.

You also have to go to View>Mix Windows Views> and Check Delay Compensation for the Delay Compensation Box to show in the Mix Window and Check Delay Compensation under Options for the Delay Compensation Box to be Active.

Thanks,

Maximum Delay Compensation

When Delay Compensation is enabled (Options >
Delay Compensation), Pro Tools 11 provides the
maximum amount of Automatic Delay Compensa-
tion that was available in lower versions of
Pro Tools. In previous versions of Pro Tools, you
had the option to select a shorter amount of Delay
Compensation in the Playback Engine dialog,
while with Pro Tools 11 these options are no longer
relevant.

Also, the total system delay can be found in the Session Setup window:

Hope that info helps.

Shane

Why would anyone want less than maximum delay compensation?

Good catch, Bruce! Indeed, ADC is enabled in 11(mostly working in 10.3.8 right now due to missing plugins for AAX). Still there is the Options menu
