Default PT11 + SPL Crimson + Win7 = any success?

since 2 weeks i try to work with my new spl-crimson interface
on my mobile rig ( Asus, i7 ,2hd etc , intel chipset) with
PTHD11.1.2 on Win7.
gives me not only headache, a lot of BSOD ("spl_crimson.sys...
..page fault on non paged area ") , corrupted audio (clicks
which PT doesnt report ) , sometimes cant hear inputs
(metering shows level!!) and somtimes big big latency (half a second).

in short : unusable

anyone here successfull with spl crimson on win 7 with PTHD11?

btw. when using internal audio via asio4all NO PROBLEMS !!

Hi,

Any difference when switching between internal and external (Crimson) clock?

Guess you've done all the uninstall and re-install the crimson drivers etc.

Changed cables and tried different port on the laptop?

...there is no external/internal clock switch , since the inputs
are all analog (except for monitoring) , i tried different usb cables
and made even a PT reinstall....no difference.

i wonder if anyone runs successfull a spl-crimson on win7
with PT.... that could mean my unit is faulty

Did u ever figure this out?? Im having same issues.. Sometimes sound dissapear in armed mode..

East west play software is having cliks n pops..in standalone software mode and worst thru pt 11

Latency like u said is half a sec late like u said with PT vst or other eastwest vst, its frustrating..

...i contacted spl and they promised , within 2 weeks or so ,
a new , PT compatible , driver.....

sometimes it helped to reinitialize the driver (changing from crimson to asio4all and versa)
sometimes not , changing buffer size (only outside PT possible) helped sometimes
till the driver gets corrupted (clicks etc) again , maybe a rounding-error since
PT needs a multiple of 32 (64 , 128 , 256 etc.) as buffer-size , which the
spl driver doesnt exactly provide.... ( at least spl told me so)

Other then the software-issues it seems like a great product and spl is a company
with big reputation and good customer-service so i think its worth to wait for the new driver.

at least i know im not the only one.

Btw when i tried Guitar Rig in standalone mode with crimson , even with small buffer sizes ,
it seemed to work very well , so it seems PT related for me (buffer-sizes)

btw which buffer-sizes you tried with east-west in standalone mode?

yup same thing, saying to wait for new driver within 2 weeks.

im not worrying either, i know SPL has exception reputation. plus this spl crimson unit sounds great, excellent preamps and converters.

i dont mind waiting at all.. i gota try out reaper meanwhile. im a rookie, learning the software first time, whether PT or Reaper.

in eastwest im having issues iwth any latency settings. is there a seperate buffer settings i should be looking for? i just tried changin the asio settings from low to highspeed latency, nothing works. for PT only the rapid settings work, with high speed my PT wont start.

i know nothing about east-west and which engine they use.
maybe its the same issue as with PT ?

as said Guitar rig works fine in standalone mode.

in my case it turned out i had a faulty hardware...
one sympton was that my crimson refused flash updates,
at least the flash was reproducable corrupted after upgrade.
i received a new crimson from spl which works ok.
