Default USB 2.0 Flash drives?

Anybody ever tried using something like this?

http://www.usb007.com/usb2.htm

The capacities would limit it to a song by song basis, kind of a working drive. Wouldn't the static RAM be faster than a spinning mechanical hard disk? Or would the USB2 bus be slower than ATA, SATA or SCSI? Might be a good solution for a notebook.
