Dude, why don't you get a mac? I have no clue what the problem could be but it's interesting.

No clue off-hand.. but talk to Nikki.. she's played around with that kind of thing and has Pro Tools working.

Hi!
Ahhh! Altering boot screens- big no-no still, but there probably is a workaround I am not aware of.

I tried one or two boot "modifier" apps, and had the same problem, not only with Pro Tools, but some other stuff.
That was about a year ago though, so someone may have "solved" these problems (doesnt sound like it tho!), or developed a new app/method that DOES owrk well.

Like This?
I did not do the dock switch, and that was a screen shot using "HoverSnap," a very cool free screenshot utility (allows to save right to disk as jpg with the prnt scrn key, and use key modifiers to specify WHAT to screenshoot)

I didnt see any problems with any of the StarDock stuff.
I guess if I really spent some time with the boot/log on/log off stuff I could get it to work, but just didnt see it as being worth the time.

As far as "Why do this?" Hehehehe! Herbal Brain Surgery causes this lol!!!
Actually, some of us just find it entertaining to "decorate" and modify the pee outta stuff. One of the reasons I am a PeeCee head instead of a (S)Mac head- love to dig into things, modify, etc.
Plus, it is a riot to have my desktop turned off and then ask a (s)Mac head to try and work. Hehehhe... j/k!!!
