Default Mbox Pro > Clock recommendations

I am looking for a clock for my Mbox Pro (spdif).
will the Avid/Digi Sync I/O work and is that my best options as far as clocks .. on todays lousy budget :{
trying to save some $$ as I plan to go to a Rosetta 200 or 800 in the future .. but not immediately as I am upgrading mics .. pres .. guitars .. amps also at this time.

Macbook Pro 2.26 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo
2 GB ram
OSX 10.6.4
ProTools 8.0.4

thanxin advancefor your support / help / suggestions !

The sync Hd io is much more expensive then just buying a converter with a good clock.

Of all the things to get first, why do you feel you need an external clock?

If you want a reasonably priced solution, check out the Focusrite ISA One Digital. It's a great preamp, DI, with a high quality a/d converter, that will also provide better clocking to your interface. All for $799.

+1 for the ISA-one, or, if you can swing the price, the API A2D is rather SWEET(hey, its an API)

Imho don't buy a clock to run with your mBox. Buy monitors, buy Acoustical treatment for your room, buy a better mic, buy mic pres, but a clock for an mBox is a waste. You probably won't really even hear a marked difference... unless you listen back in a built out mastering room.
If you decide to buy some great converters, they will probably have a really nice clock built in. If you have multiple rack units and you want to make sure they share the same clock.. then thats different.

Best of luck,
D

+++++++++++++++++++1 @ Dr. Ford

A better clock won't help anything if your room doesn't sound good. Fix the room, then the monitors, then everything in the chain. Or whatever order. Clocks are great but not at the point where you're at. The money could be better spent elsewhere with greater return. (Such as bass trapping)
