Default 002 and spdif mirroring ...how ?

I'll start by saying I have tried several searches for 002 etc...not much luck ! Right, now that's over with -how do I get my nice new 002 to "mirror to spdif" like my previous 001 ?
Have read "Getting started" and checked pdf manual (sore point that), to no avail ....I've always felt the i/o set up a tad confusing.
All I want to do is have master outs route to both L & R, plus spdif , so's I can send to Dat or whatever at the same time . Any clues - I seem to recollect that 002 doesn't default to mirror mode like 001 ?

Many thanks.

Right.. I've actually requested that we have a mirror option.. but so far no one else seems to have askd for it..

You have 2 options, for all tracks assigned to your main mix output (usually 1&2) also assign them while holding down the Control key to outputs 17&18 which in the default setup is the SPDIF outputs. Option 2 is, instead of using 1&2 as your stereo buss, use busses 1&2, create a stereo aux track and assign its input to busses 1&2 and its outputs to both outputs 1&2 and 17&18. On the TDM system, the stereo busses do sound better than the aux busses.. but in LE I believe they're the same.

I'd still like that mirror option tho'.

Cheers.

Hi Rail,
have just been checking thro' the "Getting Started" manual again (sitting on the bog actually, which just goes to show the advantage of a hard copy manual !), and yes, it does mention this on page 49, but your extra tip is worth trying -sorry not to notice this earlier , and thanks for reply.

Also, it does seem that the manual is a bit of a rushed job, as some aspects refer to procedures that applied to 5.1, and are not present in 5.3, ie page 50, and select Tascam option for Dat !....

Also, is it possible to select the type of auotmation from 002 (fader/mute/latch, read /auto off etc.)? I could do this from my Motomix, plus enable /disable automation, and also create Groups from Motomix....doesn't seem an option on 002 board ?

NO - I also bitched about not having the auto modes on the 002 surface like they have on the Control 24.

Hope you don't have the laptop in the bathroom with you
