Default Can you move multiple Markers as a group?

Had to change the T/C on a film project. Is there a way to adjust the 40+ markers to match the change?

Can´t an "insert time" at the position, where the TC change happens, with the amount of the change, be helpfull ?
That moves also the markers.

This isn´t helpful for your problem, but I use a deactivated track where I create empty groups. Then I name the group what ever notes I have for the scene.

Way easier to manipulate later.

Example: Move all markers from reel 1 to reel 2:

Click into marker track.
Enter 01:00:00:00 into "start" field
Enter 01:22:00:00 (or where ever your reel ends) into "end" field.
hit "x"

Hit "*" (numeric block) enter 02:00:00:00
hit "v"

done. Just a simple example. Of course any other offset can be done accordingly.

Conformalizer will move all your markers along with the clips when you select the marker track, BTW.
Frank.

Default Re: Can you move multiple Markers as a group?

My Question (???) refers to post #4 (of lode),
the deactivated track with empty groups.
This seems to be a trick to have a kind of additional marker track,
I use empty midi clips over the duration of a scene for this.

Many thanks for explaning moving markers via start/end-entries, until now I only used a less efficient method for cut-paste in the marker track !
But what is the reference to using deactivated tracks with empty but named groups ?

And is the idea, to insert time at the place of the TC change for the amount of the change, a good one ?
E.g. , an edit to the final cut, "we made scene soandso 30 seconds longer, scene soandso does not end at TC 01:30:00:00 anymore, but now at TC 01:30:30:00".
So, inserting 30 seconds of time at TC 01:30:00:00 will move every clip and marker in accordance.

Some people use tracks with clip-groups as "markers" as they are easier to wrangle and you can use the find function on them.

So inactive tracks with clip-groups. Or multiple of them for different dept.-notes.

Personally I also use the video-universe (a not very known feature for some reason) to navigate but that has become quite buggy since v10 (http://protools.ideascale.com/a/dtd/...T10/88254-3779) . Hope it got fixed in 11.

I know about using a midi track and empty midi clips as "markers" and (together with) the original marker track.

What is your professional opinion on the "insert time" idea ? (Nobody answered yet)

sorry, no idea. I never use that because I work in super-sessions. Usually I let Conformalizer do the work. I use alt-H a lot but that doesn't move markers.

frank.
