Default Digi 002 Connection issue

Every time I try to launch my pro tools two things happen I get a bomb factory box that pops up and asks me to authorize or quit. On this one I believe that bomb factory came either with my original pro tools 6.2.2 or with the pro tools 101 or 110 classes. Either way I can't seem to authorize it or get it to stop popping up every time that I try to open pro tools. The second and more pressing issue is that after I quit the Bomb Factory Auth, I get a message that says "Either your hardware is not installed or used by another program"

To try to resolve this I have reinstalled the program. I have reconnected the 002 rack hardware in the manner prescribed in the Digi 002 book. I have gone into preferences sound and set input to digi 002. I have gone into core audio to try to fix but only the quit button is blue and active. HW setup Prefs.... and connect are all inactive and coreaudio manager status is listed as Not Connected (HW in use). Thoughts, ideas, Help

1) to remove the bomb factory plug in: you can delete the specific file from your plugin folder. It's here: Library/Application Support/Digidesign/Plug-Ins

2)
-what ProTools version are you using on what Mac OS ?
-How old is your 002 ? If you turn it on you should here 3 clicks and the green light should go on ...
-if you are on ProTools 9 or 10 you have to download and install the 002 drivers, they are called "002 and 003 Family Drivers"

Hope this helps

Thanks for your comments. My 002 is about 12 -15 years old and has been used very sparingly in my home only. I have Power Book G4 with OS 10.5.8 and am Running Pro tools 7 upgraded from 6.2.2. Any other thoughts on fixes are welcomed and appreciated.

Minimum Pro Tools version for Leopard was 7.4.2, 7.4 was a chargeable upgrade.

1)try another Firewire cable

2)make really, really sure no other audio application is running in the background occupying your digi 002. If you open Activity Monitor (in folder: applications/utility) on your mac you can see what programs are running

3)make sure that the Core Audio Manager is no longer running before launching Pro Tools

4)close PT. go to http://avid.custkb.com/avid/app/self...p?DocId=356111
and download Tech Support Folder for PT 7. Open that and delete preferences. Then restart PT and the digi002

if that doesn't help:

5)uninstall and the re-install ProTools
